First Wyoming Bank & Trust Phone Call Scam
⚠️ Important Alert: Fraudulent Phone Calls Posing as First Wyoming Bank & Trust Employees
We have recently been made aware of fraudulent phone calls made to non-customers of our bank posing as staff from our WY branches, First Wyoming Bank & Trust. The scammers, posing as a “Fraud Specialist” with the bank, say that a fraudulent First Wyoming credit card has been opened on their account. The scammers attempt to “verify” sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers or account details, ask for a copy of their driver’s license and even connect to the “Cheyenne Police Department” which is just another fraudster on their team.
These calls are not from First Wyoming Bank & Trust. Please contact the bank if you receive one of these calls and always keep these following tips in mind.

🛡️ How to Protect Yourself from Phone Call Scams
1. Be skeptical of urgency
Scammers try to get you to react before you think.
If someone says you must “act now,” hang up.
2. Never rely on caller ID
Fraudsters can make any number — including the bank’s — appear on your screen.
3. Never share sensitive information
A real bank will never ask for:
• Social Security numbers
• Account numbers
• Passwords
• PINs
• One time login codes
If someone calls and asks for this information, end the call immediately.
4. Hang up and call us directly
If you’re unsure whether a call is legitimate, hang up and call your local branch.
